E-book Download Instructions

Save Download:

  • Save your MOBI download into an appropriate folder on your Mac or PC (preferably a folder that is backed up regularly).

Upload to Kindle using USB Connection:

  • Connect Kindle: Connect your Kindle to your Mac or PC using the USB cable.
  • Access Documents Folder: Open the Kindle drive on your computer (My Computer on Windows or Finder on Mac), and find the “Documents” folder on your Kindle drive.
  • Drag and Drop: Drag and drop the MOBI file into the Documents folder.
  • Eject Safely: When the USB activity indicator on your Kindle stops flashing, safely eject the Kindle from your computer.

OR

Use the “Send to Kindle” App:

  • Download and Install: Download and install the “Send to Kindle” app for Mac or PC from the Amazon website.
  • Open the App: Open the Send to Kindle app.
  • Find Your File: Locate the MOBI file on your Mac or PC.
  • Drag and Drop: Drag and drop the MOBI file into the Send to Kindle app where it says “Drop files here”.
  • Select Device: Make sure the correct Kindle device is selected and click “Send”.
  • Check for Sync: Give it a few minutes for the file to upload and format, then check your Kindle library or sync.

OR

Use the “Send to Kindle” feature on the Amazon website:

  • Find Your File: Locate the MOBI file on your Mac or PC.
  • Go to the “Send to Kindle” feature: (https://www.amazon.com.au/sendtokindle).
  • Drag and Drop: Drag and drop the MOBI file into the Send to Kindle app where it says “Drop files here”.
  • Select Device: Make sure the correct Kindle device is selected and click “Send”.
  • Check for Sync:Give it a few minutes for the file to upload and format, then check your Kindle library or sync.

OR

Send ebooks in other formats using your Kindle’s unique email address:

  • Log in to your Amazon account,
  • Go to ‘Manage Your Content & Devices’ → ‘Preferences’ → ‘Personal Document Settings’,
  • Your Kindle’s unique email address will be listed there;
  • Go back to ‘Personal Document Settings’ → ‘Approved Personal Document Email List’,
  • Add the email address you will be sending from to this list,
  • Attach the file (PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, HTM, HTML, PNG, GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, EPUB) to an email,
  • Send the email to your Kindle’s unique email address (you don’t need a subject line).
  • After sending the email, sync your Kindle to receive the new document,
  • The document should now appear in your Kindle library.
